Ecosystem Overview
2.1 Components of the Klara Ecosystem
The Klara ecosystem is built as a group of independent but tightly connected systems. Each part handles one big job, and when they all work together, you get a full onchain credit experience that feels as simple as a normal fintech app. Below is a breakdown of the core components that make Klara what it is.
Klara Card (Virtual and Physical)
The Klara Card is the part of the ecosystem that connects your onchain credit with the real world. It comes in two versions, virtual and physical.
Virtual Cards:
You can generate as many as you need. One for travel, one for recurring payments, one for subscriptions, one for business purchases, you name it. Virtual cards are meant to give you flexibility without friction. You choose the category, set the spending limit, and pick which part of your credit line it uses. If something looks off, you can freeze the card instantly inside the app.
Physical Card:
This is your everyday carry. It works anywhere regular cards work. Even though the backend is fully onchain, to the outside world it behaves like a standard debit or credit card. NFC, chip, tap to pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay compatibility, all the basics are there. Behind the scenes, it pulls from your Klara credit engine without touching your collateral.
Together, these cards turn your locked crypto into real spending power without selling anything.
Klara Vault (Self Custody Collateral System)
This is the core of the whole platform.
The Klara Vault is where you lock your assets to generate credit. The difference from custodial systems is simple: the vault belongs to you, not Klara. You sign it, you control it, you unlock it.
The vault does a few important jobs:
• Stores your deposited crypto
• Tracks the value of your assets across different networks
• Sends live data to the credit engine
• Determines your collateral health
• Handles liquidation protection rules
• Proves ownership through your passkey
Everything inside the vault is tracked onchain. Nothing is hidden. Nothing leaves your control.
Klara Credit Engine
This is the logic layer that converts your locked assets into spendable credit. When you deposit crypto into your vault, the credit engine mirrors the value into a usable limit. It does not sell your assets. Instead, it uses your collateral to determine how much you can safely spend.
The credit engine constantly monitors:
• Total collateral
• Asset volatility
• Health ratio
• Available credit
• Repayments and settlements
• Market movements
When you spend using your Klara Card, the transaction hits the credit engine first. It checks your available limit, approves the purchase, and then pushes the settlement into the onchain layer. Everything updates in real time so your credit always matches your vault value.
Klara App (Mobile and Web)
This is the interface that makes everything feel seamless. Through the Klara App, you can manage every part of the ecosystem.
Inside the app you can:
• Create or freeze virtual cards
• View your credit limit
• Check collateral health
• Lock or unlock assets
• Track spending by category
• Manage repayments
• Switch network preferences
• Receive alerts on dips or risks
The goal is to make self custody feel simple enough for anyone, even people who have never used crypto before.
The app will be available on mobile and web, so you can control your account anywhere and on any device.
Klara Onchain Settlement Layer
This is the part of the system that bridges real world transactions with onchain accounting. When you make a purchase with your card, the settlement layer handles the translation between the card network and your credit engine.
The settlement layer ensures that:
• Your credit usage is recorded instantly
• Repayments are logged onchain
• Your vault state stays in sync
• FX conversions are handled cleanly
• Spending rules match your limits
• You never get hit with forced selling
This layer is what keeps the entire system transparent and auditable.
Klara Multi Chain Module
Klara is built to work wherever the user’s assets live. The multi chain module connects the platform to networks like Ethereum, Base, Solana, Arbitrum and others. It handles deposits, price feeds, collateral valuation, and contract interaction across chains.
The module supports:
• Multi network deposit tracking
• Bridge free onboarding
• Real time collateral valuation
• Protocol level safety checks
• Network specific optimizations
• Future integrations with new chains
The idea is to make chain borders invisible. Whether your assets are on Base or Solana or somewhere else, Klara treats them the same.
